Gross domestic product is a monetary measure of the market value of all the final goods and services produced in a specific time period within a country. It is commonly used to measure the size of an economy, which is a major factor in how powerful, influential or important a country is considered by other countries.

Eight of the countries are from Asia, eight from Europe, and four from the Americas. There are no countries on the list from Africa — Nigeria has the 29th largest economy in the world.
