“Templar” by Glass Crown
“The NFT space has to be the most interesting economic trend. We are seeing it expand beyond art into all different kinds of genres. Brands and real estate are just the tip of the iceberg, especially as it carries over into real world.” -Glass Crown
In the past two years, the world has changed thanks to the blockchain and the internet. The traditionally illiquid art market has united with the liquid cryptocurrency-holding public through the use of NFTs.
In this ten part series, we travel virtually to unique locations across the globe to meet individual creators using NFT technology.
In this next part of the series, it is my pleasure to introduce you to a multidisciplinary artist who can blow you away in any one of various mediums!
An Inside Look with Glass Crown
“I believe in cycloning stories. To create worlds that are fused with different genres and allow the viewer to finish what happens in their mind. To encourage others to think bigger.” -Glass Crown

1. How and when did you get into art?
I actually started as an artist when I was really young, but in all sorts of different genres. I drew fashion designs. I created a family newspaper and designed layouts, which my parents generously bought from me. haha I did sculpting, watercolor painting, pencil sketching. I just never was happy settling for one certain specific style, because I wanted to try it all. As I got older, it carried over to photography.
2. Where do you find inspiration to create your art?
My inspiration for my art usually comes from film, gaming and fx styles. I am drawn to colors, stories, even film scores inspire me, like Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky. I pull from anything that is interesting and cyclone it with other styles to create a story.
3. What is your biggest barrier as an artist?
My biggest barrier is lacking the tools to bring my creations beyond a 2D world. I always thought maybe I would evolve into being a film director, seeing stories being brought to life in real time. With 3D rendering available now, I can grow my worlds farther than I ever could in 2D.
4. What was your greatest personal achievement as an artist?
One of my favorite achievements was taking a risk and creating a darker, fine art self portrait piece. It actually was showcased in Art Basel and my first Nifty drop. I remember seeing it displayed on a 7 story building during a party and literally thought this is what dreams are made of.
5. How and when did you get into NFTs?
I got into NFT’s in March 2021, when the big rush was happening. I saw my amazing friends share their creations and their sales and was super intrigued. I had no clue what it all entailed, but I dove in and didn’t look back.
6. What has been your experience with cryptocurrency?
I didn’t even know what Ethereum was a year ago! Haha I remember hearing about Bitcoin, but never pursued it. So I am super late to the party, but now I love crypto, got my first mining rig set up and started learning on how to day trade.
7. What is the most interesting economic trend in the world today?
The NFT space has to be the most interesting economic trend. We are seeing it expand beyond art into all different kinds of genres. Brands and real estate are just the tip of the iceberg, especially as it carries over into real world. City DAO purchased a parcel of land in Wyoming and you can own an NFT to be a citizen there. I love seeing how NFTs will start changing real world interactions!
8. How are NFTs influencing the creator economy?
The creator economy is flourishing under NFTs. For example, artists in third world countries now can share what they create on a massive stage and be compensated like never before. It is expanding to cover dancers, poets, musicians, carvers, forgers, any kind of creation possible can now be owned as a NFT.
9. What is one situation in the world you wish you could improve?
It is hard to just pick one. I have seen my own artistic friends want to be in the NFT space, but they don’t understand crypto, how NFTs work, etc. I would really love to see a resource that covers it all. How to do this from the very beginning, sponsor artists who do not have the funds to enter, help with artists marketing, etc. Almost like a NFT university.
There are so many helpful people in our community, but people don’t usually know who to reach out to. It can be information overload. I would love to see one solid resource for anyone in the world to find help, and yes, beyond Google and YouTube. Haha
10. What do you think will be different about the creator economy in the 2030s as compared to today?
I think our minds will be blown by 2030. We are so early to this world now and it changes lightning fast. So, I have no clue where we will be. I am just along for the ride!
