Exploring the Beautiful Union of Magic and Art - Talking NFTs with ShuvaevaArt

“NFTs are just starting to develop and I think in the future it will have a positive impact on the economy.” –ShuvaevaArt

We might be in a bear market, but I still love to feature incredible artists who are creating in the NFT world. If markets have you down, art can cheer you up.

Before we dive into it this profile, here’s a short educational introduction to the subject of NFTs.

What are NFTs?

Fungible means something that can be easily replaced or that is mutually interchangeable. Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are unique digital signatures recorded on special kind of databased called a blockchain. They are unique tokens that are individual or part of a set of NFTs.

NFTs are different than cryptocurrencies, which are themselves fungible tokens on a blockchain. NFTs display present and past ownership, as well as creation source on a permanent, transparent, decentralized, secure and open-
source database known as a blockchain.

The technology of NFTs embraces and is in the process of disrupting numerous fields: digital art, collectibles, gaming, certifications and personal licenses, IDs, domain names, music, fashion, finance and insurance to name a few.

For a full explainer on NFTs, read this.

The pioneers of NFTs will always be the artists who embraced the technology around the world and formed tight communities online. This is one of the reasons why I have been inspired to interview and feature them in this blog series.

Without further ado, it is my honor to introduce Kate, an incredible artist known online as ShuvaevaArt.

Who is ShuvaevaArt?

I have been drawing since childhood and really love it. Drawing for me is an expression of my feelings and emotions.” -ShuvaevaArt

Kate, or ShuvaevaArt as she is known online, is an artist who is lucky enouhg to be complemented by other technical skills. A catering technologist by education, she loves to cook, do yoga, ride her bike and walk in nature. One of her top priorities in life is her family. She balances her life between her hobbies, work and family.

You can follow her on Twitter and find her art on OpenSea.

A Closer Look

I reached out to Kate to get a closer look into her heart and mind so I could find out about her personal views. Here is what she had to say:

1. How and when did you get into art?

I have been drawing since childhood and really love it. Drawing for me is an expression of my feelings and emotions. I had a break from drawing as a teenager trying to find myself, but if you’re an artist, you’re an artist forever. At the age of 20 I started drawing again.

I came to the NFT at the end of January 2022 and this is a great opportunity to show myself and my work to the world.

2. What inspires you to create?

I am inspired by nature, books and our universe. I believe that everything is possible in it. I love something magical, so one of my collections “My fairy world” is about a magical world that I came up with myself.

As a child, my mother read “the Hobbit” to me, and I made small sketches.. I think this influenced my love of magic!

3. What is the biggest barrier you face as an artist?

It’s very important for an artist to be noticed and appreciated. Freedom is also important for artists. In art school there was little freedom in drawing and it was hard for me.

Then it was difficult to make you noticed, but I didn’t give up. Now I have a wonderful community on Twitter.

4. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment as an artist?

As a child, several of my drawings won at the exhibition — then I thought that was all I could achieve.

But now my arts are bought and recognized, I give you an interview — this is all a great achievement, I think. And more success awaits me.

5. Who is one artist living or dead you wish you could speak to for an hour? What is one question you would ask them?

I really like the artist Aivazovsky. I would like to talk to him. I don’t know what I would ask, but talking to him would be an incredible experience for me.

6. In what way has crypto influenced your life and work?

I sell my art for cryptocurrency and this is my income. It’s good that there is such an opportunity.

7. What is one bad situation in the world that you wish you could improve?

An interesting and difficult question. There are many situations in the world that require the attention of society. But what concerns me the most is the ecology of our planet. Without good ecology, our planet will perish. Earth is our home, I don’t understand why we don’t appreciate it. Many animals and plants have already disappeared… if we don’t start to appreciate our planet, we will disappear too.

8. How do you feel NFTs will influence the creator economy over the next decade?

NFTs are just starting to develop and I think in the future it will have a positive impact on the economy. But it’s hard for me to answer in more detail because I’m an artist.
